Hi, I'm Ignacio.
I'm a founding engineer building AI products from the ground up, a Chilean now living in the Palo Alto area, and a husband and dad of two trying to be present for all of it. This site is where I keep notes on all three.
✦ Background
I've spent the last decade building software — most recently as a founding engineer shipping AI products from zero to one. I lead and ship agents, eval systems, and the kind of infrastructure that lives between a research demo and something people actually trust. I grew up in Santiago and now build from the Palo Alto area.
Before AI ate my calendar, I worked across web infrastructure, developer tooling, and a few startups whose names you wouldn't recognize. I'm a generalist by training and a long-form thinker by temperament — which I think shows up here.

AI engineering
Agents, evals, the unglamorous infrastructure that makes LLMs feel reliable.
Endurance
Trail running and cycling. The slow accumulation of miles is the closest thing I have to a religion.
Family
Gabriela, Camila, and Santiago. They keep me humble, keep the schedule honest, and remind me what any of this is for.
Outdoors
Trails, mountains, and any view earned with effort. Slower than most. Don't mind.
